Our Story Agro Organica Private Limited (AOL), Founded in 2011, is Bangladesh’s one of the leading multi category food company with over 73 different SKU in 7 categories. AOL holds ISO and BSTI certifications along with ERP System to drive its strong commitment to quality and management excellence. In line with AOL’s Vision 2025 of becoming trustable brand in the world, we are already supplied the products over 5 countries worldwide. AOL is dedicated to improving the well-being of our society through continuous development of innovative food products and a wide range of Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Business Profile AOL has successfully established itself as a national food company along with four brands, they are Khusboo, Village, Khati and Protiden. At present Khusboo has been established as a brand in the Bangladesh market and promoting as a brand in the international market because of our skilled, professional, hard work, dedication, determination, dynamic team members make Khusboo different from our competitor. We received a quick response from our customers because of our product differentiation. AOL launched Rice, Ghee, Pickles, Sauce, Jam & Jelly, Isabgol and Spices under the Khusboo brand. Also AOL have plan to launch edible Oil under the brand of Khati and dry fish will launch under the name of Village. Similarly AOL will promote economic products under brand of Protiden. AOL have own factory building and warehouse in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet for smooth delivery around those divisions in Bangladesh. Already we covered major super shop, online market, corporate market and bulk supply in Bangladesh. Land Marks of a Glorious Past  2011- "AOL" has launched its operation in the year 2011 as a private limited company according to the Company Act Bangladesh 1994 and under the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) of Bangladesh.  2012- Aol have own factory land and building in BSCIC industrial Area, Nouhata, Sherpur, Bangladesh and sales rice to the Local Market.  2013- AOL sale chinigura kalijira and miniket rice into the bulk market and process for enlisting to the supper shop.  2014- With the aim of bringing constant value to our consumers, AOL diversifies its product portfolio with the launch of different SKU of Rice in his own brand call Khusboo into the Super shop Market.  2015- We introduce different SKU of Ghee and Isabgul into the Market. Also we export our products to Italy Market.  2016- Also we introduce different SKU of Pickles and Jelly with lucrative packaging to super shop market and process for enlisting to Corporate and Online market. Similarly we export our products to USA and Australia Market.  2017- Introduce Saffron with attractive packaging and successfully launched Sauce with different SKU to the Super shop, Corporate, online market and export to USA and Australia Market.  2018 – We successfully launched different SKU of Honey and Mastered oil to the Super shop, Corporate, online market. Directors, Profile Mr. Md. Zia Uddin Chairman Mr. Md. Zia Uddin is Director and Chairman of Agro Organica Pvt. Limited, (AOL) Mr. Md. Zia Uddin experiences have been diverse from the very beginning, adding depth and insight to the culture of the company. After graduating B.B.A, he was joined as Managing Director of Faijun Industries (Pvt.) Ltd and the proprietor of Zia Uddin Metal Industries. Also He is a Director of Hamid Industrial Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd., his family business operating successfully with excellent reputation since 1970. Today, in addition to playing a vital role playing to AOL as a leading multi-category company in Bangladesh. His leadership and strong business acumen has earned him admirable reputation within the business community. He is also the Director of AFC Agro Biotech Limited, Active Fine Chemicals Ltd and AFC Health Limited. With a keen interest in continuous innovation, Mr. Md. Zia Uddin contribution has been pivotal in leading the Research & Development team at AOL. He has participated in various seminars & workshops including held at home and abroad. Ever since he took control of his family business, the group has seen admirable growth in various sectors. Mr. Din Mohammad Shopon Vice Chairman Din Mohammad Shopon is the Vice Chairman of the Agro Organica Pvt. Limited, (AOL). He was born in 1972 in a well reputed family of Dhaka. He has proven track records of development and implementation of food product procurement, processing and distribution businesses. Immense success in his field gave him the confidence to venture into a new challenge of setting up this state of the art food processing company. His business experience and visionary mindset is one of the key strengths of this company as his important opinions add great values to the company. Mr. Shopon has been involved with various social activities for a long time. He is known as an inspirational leader among his community, with a supportive yet challenging management style that motivates both teams and individuals to achieve and exceed targets and job responsibilities. He is also the proprietor of M/S Hannan Enterprise, which is involved with the procurement, processing and supplying of rice and other commodities in the local market and various government organizations. Mr. Mohammad Azhar Khan Managing Director Mr. Mohammad Azhar Khan has been with Agro Organica Pvt Limited since 2011, where he was appointed as Managing Director by the Board of Directors in the year 2011. Under his inspirational leadership and proficient operations management skills, AOL has transformed from a simple recipe producer to a multi-category food company. Prior to his joining AOL, Mr. Mohammad Azhar Khan was Director at Active Fine Chemicals Ltd, where he was responsible for overseeing production and manufacturing management. Mr. Mohammad Azhar Khan with his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge has set examples and inspired the AOL team to embrace new technology, discover upcoming marketing trends and invest in human resource Development Company wide. Iqbal Hossain is a Director of the company. He was born in 1974 at Dhaka. Our Manufacturing Excellence Continuing its legacy, our site facility strived to increase efficiencies and enhance our capacity. We have attractive packaging, sourcing best quality products and 100% pure and natural products offering to the market with comparative price assured us our manufacturing excellence. We introduce first time in Bangladesh on 20 kg rice packing used nylon out part of the bag and Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in inner part of the bag which reduce our cost by three layer to two layer. Adopting information technology in the maintenance techniques, we successfully implemented Tally ERP system to manage our inventory which provides us excellent management information and strengthening our proactive maintenance approach. Products • Existing Products Rice Chinigura Khusboo premium chinigura rice is so versatile that consumers find new and unique uses to enhance traditional recipes while still allowing each dish to be distinctive. Kalijira Khusboo premium Kalijira is an aromatic rice called “prince of rice" very popular among food lovers which has unique flavor with more nutritional value. It is a distinct variety of basmati rice on a miniature scale also known as baby basmati Basmati The name Basmati comes from the Sanskrit word ‘vasmati’ meaning fragrant. That distinct aroma is enhanced by the fact that we age our Basmati for months before milling. This gives it a deeper, richer and nuttier taste. It also means that when our rice is cooked small pores are opened in the surface of the grain that allow it to absorb the flavors of your meal. Ghee Ghee is an ancient cooking medium that originated in South Asia and is extensively use in Mughal foods. KHUSBOO ghee or clarified butter, sourced from Bangladeshi grass-fed cows. It contains Omega Fatty Acids, Butyric Acid, Vitamin K, Medium & Short-Chain Triglycerides. A type of shelf-stable clarified butter, ghee is slowly processed to remove water, milk solids and impurities-so it’s perfection. We have three different types of Ghee which is successfully launched in to Bangladesh market and ensure BSTI standard rate each time. Pickles The word ‘pickle’ itself comes from the Dutch word pekel. Pickles are generally made of fruits and vegetables soaked in solutions that help in preventing spoilage as well as add flavor. In south Asia it call archer, where did that come from? The word archer is widely considered to be of Persian origin. Pickles in south Asia are of three basic types: those preserved in vinegar; those preserved in salt; and those preserved in oil. In oil is a popular medium used for pickling. The process of pickling is one of the best ways to preserve a food item. Once preserved, the pickled food will not need refrigeration, and so it travels well, making it ideal for long-distance journeys. AOL is now an entire cooking and culinary experience. It includes eight categories of pickles which is Alubokhara, Brinjal, Garlic, Green chili, Mango, Olive, Potato, Tamarind-Plum pickles and fifteen different size pickles items are developed with Mixed pickle were introduced in the local market. These contain no added monosodium glutamate (MSG), no preservatives and no hydrogenated oils – just 100% natural and 100% fresh ingredients. Sauce Tomato sauce containing tomato puree, diced tomatoes, and bell peppers (red, yellow, and green), with the seeds included. It is seasoned with fresh garlic, basil, oregano, paprika, cajun seasoning, crushed red pepper, parsley, olive oil, and possibly some additional seasonings. Tamarind is a leguminous tree in the family fabaceae indigenous to tropical Africa. The genus Tamarinds is a monotypic taxon. The tamarind tree produces pod-like fruit that contains an edible pulp used in cuisines around the world. Other uses of the pulp include traditional medicine and metal polish Spice Spices are available in several forms: fresh, whole dried, or pre-ground dried. Generally, spices are dried. Spices may be ground into a powder for convenience. A whole dried spice has the longest shelf life, so it can be purchased and stored in larger amounts. Saffron Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the "saffron crocus". The vivid crimson stigmas and styles, called threads, are collected and dried to be used mainly as a seasoning and coloring agent in food. Jam and Jelly Jelly, jam and preserves are all made from fruit mixed with sugar and pectin. The difference between them comes in the form that the fruit takes. In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice. In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit (and is less stiff than jelly as a result). Isabgul KHUSBOO ISABGUL is a soluble fiber derived from the seeds of Plant agoovata, an herb. It's used as a dietary supplement and is usually found in the form of husk, granules or powder. However, it can also be obtained through fortified breakfast cereals and baked goods. Its resistance to digestion allows it to help regulate high cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar levels. It can also aid weight management and relieve diarrhea and constipation. Moreover, unlike some other potent sources of fiber, psyllium is well tolerated Technological development Our main objective is to continuous process development and improve communication networks. Gradually we develop our production process system, management reporting system and supply chain management system. Through technology we develop product packing system as a result we ensure that consumer receive good quality products. Not only we offer good quality products to customer but also we response their query quickly through company webmail, hot line, phone, SMS, Facebook, email etc. All management and external report has been prepared through ERP system and internal communication is doing through internal networking, Google Drive, Skype, email etc. We have plan to do distributors via automation, transparency, order placement, confirmation and financial information through a single window internet platform. Innovations research and development We have dynamic year of change and numerous product launch initiatives for our Research & development team. R&D was formerly a functional part of the Quality, Research and Development team at AOL but in order to give greater focus and visibility, we restructured the functions and split the former department of Quality Research & Development into Innovations, Research and Development, (IRD). The purpose of the IRD team is to align itself with major customers within the business; Innovation for the Strategic Group, Local Markets, International Markets and Supply Chain such that it can serve these customers in a much more focused way. The journey of change has begun and the evidence of the launches from the department over the last year is a positive manifestation of the changes made but there is still room for improvement in our overall R&D processes, building capacity and capability to meet the demands of the company’s future strategic growth. Health safety and environment To enhance the organization’s safety culture and to ensure identification and reporting of incidents, we implemented first aid system by the name of “Safety First”. This system has not only formalized the process of identifying and reporting near misses but also documents and helps generate safety records for better risk analysis. From a health and safety perspective, reporting hazards, incidents and injuries is a matter of prevention. The idea is to prevent accidents from happening in the first place. If one has already occurred, then the goal is to prevent it from occurring again. If a health and safety program has missed the identification of a hazard, then it could be “caught” by analyzing “near miss” reports. If “near miss” reports are not made, the only other indication that a hazard exists in the workplace is that a worker has suffered an injury or illness. International Division The central focus for revolved around demand generation in pre-defined focus markets i.e. USA, UK, UAE and Saudi Arabia. These markets were selected based on the opportunities and market potential evident in these countries. Multiple initiatives were taken to achieve sustainable growth through brand fortification, product availability drives and innovations. Similarly, the focused approach was also applied to certain categories like Recipes, Pickles and Sauces which were promoted throughout the year on various mediums including Digital, on ground activities, Trade Visibility drives and more. AOL responded with counter measures to keep the business in a growth mode and minimize impact of these external factors on the performance. International researches were conducted to gain a better understanding of the consumer in focus countries i.e. USA and Saudi Arabia. Home usage research studies were also carried out to test certain products against competition in selective markets. The company applied the research results, along with other market insights, to counter off-take challenges by targeting the customer with the right product and strategy.
