Saudi Arabia holds great export potential for Hungary
Saudi Arabian officials see great potential in importing Hungarian products to the country, state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lászlo Szabó told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday.
Szabó and his delegation arrived for a two-day official visit to Riyadh, where he conducted talks with Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Soliman al-Meshal, head of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority on future exports of Hungarian beef.
Szabó noted that Hungarian dairy company Kőröstej controls one-third of the market for cheese in Saudi Arabia.
The Hungarian delegation also held talks with Turki bin Saud bin Mohammad Al Saud, chairman of the King Abdulaziz Science and Technology Center on possible cooperation with Hungarian scientists in the areas of nanotechnology, neuroscience as well as research related to the oil industry.
Szabó attended the second meeting of the Hungarian-Saudi Joint Economic Committee to discuss the possibility of cooperation in farming, R&D, education, sports and renewable energy. The two governments signed an agreement in infocommunication, he added.
